As the May starts, there is a new competition ahead of our Dota 2 squad – Summit 7 EU Qualifiers, held online. The LAN final of this tournament is scheduled to take place in mid-June in Los Angeles, boasting a prize pool of $100,000, while the online qualifiers for the European region are about to begin on May 7, and will last for a week. Two teams have already been invited – Russian FederationVirtus.pro and ChinaTeam VGJ have received a direct invite, the rest of the teams are going to get to the tournament through the qualifiers. SEA Qualifications have already concluded, with PhilippinesClutch Gamers emerging as the team to go to the LAN final.
Natus Vincere G2A are going to take part in these qualifiers alongside mousesports, Alliance, Team Empire, Cloud9, Ninjas in Pyjamas, Prodota Gaming and Vega Squadron – B)ears were originally supposed to be the last team, however, they disbanded relatively recently, and thus, Vega is our final opponent. Having been seeded into the group B, our opponents during the group stage will be Alliance, Cloud9 along with Vega Squadron.
The Qualifications feature a Group Stage and Playoffs, with the Group Stage utilizing GSL format – winners of the first matches will play against each other in the winner’s bracket, while the losers will drop to the lower bracket elimination matches – the winner of the elimination match will move on to face the loser of the upper bracket match in another elimination game, and the winner of this match will move to the grand finals. At the end of the day, only one team from the European region will be able to qualify for the main event
